AWS Introduces Serverless Amazon Neptune for Graph Database Workloads

Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Wednesday announced Amazon Neptune Serverless — a new serverless option designed for Amazon Neptune — that automatically scales critical and unpredictable graphics database workloads. Part of the company’s web service, Amazon Neptune, is a high-performance graph database service for storing and querying complex connected data sets.

The company, in a press release, said Amazon Neptune Serverless will include Amazon Neptune’s advanced capabilities for high availability and performance. Additionally, there would be no additional cost to use the new functionality, with customers only paying for database resources.

Vice President of Databases, Analytics and ML at AWS Swami Sivasubramanian said, “Customers tell us they value the ability to use Amazon Neptune to understand the complex relationships between endpoints. highly connected data. With Amazon Neptune Serverless, customers have a graph database that scales seamlessly and automatically provisions clusters to provide just the right amount of capacity to meet demand. This allows them to build and run applications for even the most variable and unpredictable workloads without having to worry about provisioning capacity, cluster scaling, or resource costs. unused.

With the help of Amazon Neptune Serverless, customers will no longer need to scale and manage various database instances. The new option would automatically deliver graph database workloads to thousands of queries to maintain fast performance for applications with unpredictable workloads. By only paying for database resources, customers will save up to 90% compared to provisioning for peak capacity.

Snap, LexisNexis Legal & Professional, and Wiz are among the customers using Amazon Neptune Serverless. Amazon Neptune Serverless is available for customers running Amazon Neptune in regions such as the US, Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (London), and will soon be available in other AWS Regions.
